TEACHING

As a passionate piano instructor and active professional musician, I have over a decade of experience in both performance and instruction. My own personal journey has been shaped by a deep love for music, and a commitment to sharing that passion with others, particularly young musicians.

At the heart of my teaching is the belief that the study of music should be a joyful and empowering endeavor. I strive to create a positive and supportive environment where students of all ages feel encouraged to explore, learn, and grow. My approach is rooted in:

CONFIDENCE BUILDING

Fostering self-assuredness through achievable goals and personalized encouragement.

MUSICAL UNDERSTANDING

Aiming to develop well-rounded musicianship by integrating technique, music theory, and overall musical expression.

JOYFUL LEARNING

Making each lesson an engaging and enjoyable experience that sparks a lifelong love and curiosity of music.

INCLUSION and ACCEPTANCE

Ensuring that every student who walks into my studio feels seen, heard, and respected. I strive to create a space where diverse identities and experiences are embraced, and where each student can grow musically and personally without fear of judgement.

Over the years, I’ve built a vibrant studio where students of all ages thrive in a nurturing and dynamic setting. Whether they are a beginner or advanced player, I aim to tailor lessons to meet everyone where they are in terms of their individual needs and goals.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is guiding young beginners through their early stages of musical development. My approach is built around patience, encouragement, and a deep respect for the unique pace at which young children develop. Each step of the process is celebrated, no matter how small the achievement. By focusing on both the fun and fundamentals of music, I ensure that each child develops a strong foundation in rhythm, ear training, and technique while fostering a lifelong appreciation for the piano and music in general.

Above all, I am committed to creating a positive and supportive atmosphere where every child feels confident, excited, and eager to explore music. For me, the goal is not just to teach the piano, but to instill a sense of joy, curiosity, and self-expression that will carry over into every aspect of their lives.

TESTIMONIALS

  • Maria has been teaching our 8-year-old daughter for the past three years, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible impact she’s had. From the very beginning, Maria has shown patience, warmth, and a genuine love for teaching that makes each lesson something my daughter looks forward to.

Her ability to balance technical instruction with creativity keeps the lessons engaging and fun, while still challenging my daughter to grow as a pianist. It’s amazing to see how much confidence and skill my daughter has developed under Maria’s guidance — not just in her playing, but in her overall appreciation for music.

  • Maria Rabbia has been an exceptional piano teacher for our family. She has been teaching my son for the past three years, and this year my daughter began lessons with her as well. From the beginning, Maria has shown incredible kindness, patience, and support toward both of them.

Her instruction is clear and consistent, and she provides helpful weekly practice guidelines that keep the kids engaged and progressing. Maria strikes a wonderful balance between encouraging growth and maintaining a positive, low-pressure environment. Her reliability and willingness to be flexible with scheduling when needed have also been greatly appreciated.

Her studio is welcoming, accessible, and a truly inspiring space for both lessons and recitals. We feel very fortunate to have found such a dedicated and talented teacher. I highly recommend Maria to any family looking for thoughtful and effective piano instruction.
